Responding to the horticultural history of the Northbrook site and the Falla family’s long association with the Les Capelles Methodist community, artist Christopher Heighes explores the ‘emblazoned word’ - cursive lettering, typography, and bold texts, which in form and character display a close relationship to plants and the natural world.

A site-specific installation, with performance, Growing Instructions will offer encounters with a range of florid and foliate utterance - biblical verse and homily; public notices and proverbs; baleful warnings, and sayings antiquated and popular.
